Nikki Ann Hartman Presents
Doll Parts…
Doll Parts… is a one-[trans]-woman show about memory, becoming, and transitioning gender in later life. Taking place in the present, even in its recollection of events of the past, Doll Parts…follows Nikki as she discovers her true self in the midst of hormone-therapy-induced puberty, dating, menopause, and surgically transitioning her gender in her 60's. Balanced with humor, a touch of the Divine, and an overwhelming joie de vivré, Doll Parts… looks at living an authentic life even if it has to be as a sacred act of rebellion!
Lorelei Ensemble Presents
WILD
This nonconformist and charged program claims a limitless space for the incomparable voices of Lorelei and celebrates living composers whose music bucks convention and disregards the traditional boundaries of genre. Merging the provocative prose of Virginia Woolf with poetry by Khadijah Queen and Mira Jacob, tracing the trajectory and limitations of technology in music, and layering sounds of real and imagined beasts, WILD is about controlled borders and vast landscapes, freedom and constraint, clarity and distortion, and the ways we resist and embrace wildness in ourselves and in the world around us.
Andrea Conte Presents
The Records & The Ruse
The Records & The Ruse is a live documentary theatre performance about previously hidden government actions that targeted the Baltimore Chapter of the Black Panther Party. Drawing on years of investigative journalism and Freedom of Information research, The Records & The Ruse uncovers a pivotal chapter of Baltimore’s history through actors’ investigations of their own roles, archival newsreels, staged adaptations of previously undisclosed law enforcement records, and live cinematic performance. Blending investigative process with theatrical storytelling, the performance examines how political power, the historical record, and public narratives shape our understanding of truth.
Orange Grove Dance Presents
NEVERMORE
Come see Orange Grove Dance's evocative water-drenched descent into the shadowed emotional world of Edgar Allan Poe. Drawing from his haunting poetry and darkly revelatory tales, NEVERMORE transforms The Voxel into a shifting landscape of memory, downpours, obsession, and stark beauty…where movement, light, and madness blur the line between the living and the spectral.
